What is the Deuce Project?

The Deuce Project is a program that has been running on 89.1fm in Kalamazoo for about 10 years. We play music that contains references to sci-fi, science, mathematics, or anything in that vein. The songs' connection can be via the lyrics, band name, song name, album name, or sometimes just the general aesthetic of the song. Please enjoy. [Banner Image: 1947 by Aurorabomb]

WIDR Spotlight: Arctic Paradise

One of my favorite shows on WIDR has a killer blog that I really should have featured here earlier:
They've posted some killer albums over there:

I know things have been quiet around here, but that will soon change. Expect a TON of podcasts and playlists to make their way here in about 2-3 weeks. To keep my human cover persona of "college instructor" believable, I have to spend the next week or so grading. But after that, you are in for a treat.

Tweaks and a thanks to those following the blog!

Expect some minor layout changes over the next couple of weeks. I want to reorganize the links so that they are in a more sensible order and I may try tweaking some other stuff. I'm open to suggestions/feedback.

Also, I would like to thank the folks that have subscribed to the blog via the "following" application (the "followers" if you will). I'm glad you enjoy the music enough to subscribe. Don't ever be shy about leaving comments or suggestions regarding the show.

A Cyborg's Guide To Deep Sea Adventure

A Cyborg's Guide to Deep Sea Adventure
Original Air Date: September 26, 2009
320 kbps [1:58:07] 283.6mb

As you can tell by the original air date, I have some catching up to do on the blog.
This episode contains a memorial set dedicated to Arthur Ferrante. Earlier in the week that this originally aired, the talented Arthur Ferrante, of the duo Ferrante and Teicher passed away (September 19, 2009). I featured four Ferrante and Teicher tracks, including the Deuce Project favorite "The Man from Mars."

Also, the "cover art" for this podcast comes from the cover of Urania #4000, 1989. Given the year, I'm fairly certain that the artist is Vincent Segrelles. [If you know for sure, please e-mail Thedeuceproject at gmail dot com] I love the Urania covers and wanted to expose more people to them. Here is a fantastic Urania cover gallery if you dig the art: http://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/urania

I hope you all enjoy the podcast. If you do, please drop a comment. It is always nice to hear from listeners. I'll try to keep get caught up in the weeks to come. Until then, enjoy!
