It is that time of year again. Halloween is tomorrow. The Deuce Project "Society of the Spooktacle 2009" special airs tomorrow at 7pm EST. You can stream it by going here and hitting up 89.1 WIDR's webstream at the appropriate time.
However, there have been some good Halloween mixes that are already out there that we think you may enjoy:
The wonderful Music For Maniacs has a Caribean Halloween mix which should get the ghouls' toes tappin: http://musicformaniacs.blogspot.com/2009/10/dread-dread-dread-dead-dead-dead.html
Also, Fever Ray has released a Halloween Mix on Resident Adviser that is quite good. If you want to download it without registering on RA, then click here.
Fever Ray scooped us on a few of our Halloween picks for Society of the Spooktacle. We ALWAYS play Jad and David Fair's Monster Songs, and by coincidence, Fever Ray also chose one of the Bruce Haack tracks we are planning on presenting. This worries us that you Earthlings may be hacking into our systems. If evidence is found, expect worldwide retribution when the invasion hammer drops.
Also, many of the fine music blogs you see to the right have special Halloween posts. Show them some love and make with the clicky.
That said. Happy Halloween earthlings. Tune in tomorrow for the show!

Free Kid Koala Project : The Slew [Until Nov. 1]

Download The Slew: 100% for free [Link dies on Nov. 1]
Sorry for the multiple posts today, but I just ran across this and thought some listeners might be interested. We feature Kid Koala on the show from time to time and he is one of the most interesting turntabilists out there.
For more info on this release, such as when it will be available from Ninja Tune on vinyl and cd, visit Kid's website:

This was posted over at Capcom Unity
I can't say I'm a huge fan of the actual rapping, but the backing beats and visuals are really cool.
Yes...I'm making up for being lazy with the podcast by posting link content.

Sorry for the delay
Greetings everyone. I want to personally apologize for the delay between episodes. I can't believe that it has been a month since a new episode was last posted.
All of the most current episodes are up an unedited on
https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/BrowsePrivately/wmich.edu.1552307471
This opens up I-tunes and points you to the page.
The most recent ones are unedited. No album art, no careful attention to clipping excess audio at the beginning or end of the file, but basically just a raw recording. I am working on getting these edited, slapping some art on them, and posting playlists here, but for now the Itunes link is going to have to do.
My role as an instructor is basically slowing me down lately. Grading, writing lectures, and all of that fun stuff just is not leaving time to edit the podcasts. I apologize and I'm working on getting everything back on track as soon as I possibly can.
