What is the Deuce Project?

The Deuce Project is a program that has been running on 89.1fm in Kalamazoo for about 10 years. We play music that contains references to sci-fi, science, mathematics, or anything in that vein. The songs' connection can be via the lyrics, band name, song name, album name, or sometimes just the general aesthetic of the song. Please enjoy. [Banner Image: 1947 by Aurorabomb]

Music Blogs Added!

I added a bunch of the project's favorite music blogs over on the right-hand side. There is a ton of great stuff out in the blogosphere right now and I highly suggest checking them out. Among the current top faves:

Rocket Remnants
[Even if you don't dig the music, the info is always superbly written]
Autres Grooves [Switched on Santa anyone?]

Also, J-Unit 1's Street Fighter habit has surfaced again. If you are on X-Box live and want to go a round on SSF2HDR (seriously? That is an ACRONYM and it is still that long) feel free to send a request out to J Unit 1(with the spaces) and get ready for Blanka to eat your face...or to beat him to a pulp.

Linkblog: A 1973 Prediction of Christmas 2003

Drexzor found this while researching Earth's "Christmas" holiday. This is a 1973 prediction of what the holiday might be like in 2003. Not noted is the artist's prediction [image above] that actor Michael Keaton would become an astronaut...or perhaps a space waiter?

Credit goes to Leon Stinger for hosting this magnificence.

Quick Note

I just realized that there are a couple of repeat songs in the last two episodes. While this is unavoidable due to the nature of the podcast (taking requests and a finite amount of music for a weekly radio show = sometimes repeating favorite tracks), I try to vary the playlists at least in regards to specific tracks if not artists from week-to-week. I apparently just didn't catch these tracks. Anyway, a sincere apology, but I do hope it doesn't stop you from downloading and enjoying both episodes!

The Experiment Log of Dr. Westinhouse - Entry #17

The Experiment Log of Dr. Westinhouse - Entry #17
2-Hour mp3 in 320kbps
Original Airdate Nov. 22, 2008

Dr. Westinhouse is long forgotten in your timeline. His obscurity is a testament to the success of Experiment #17, which, according to this journal, occurred in your 1937 C.E. The experiment was intended to open up a viewing portal between divergent timelines in order to record the progress of, in the Dr.'s words "counterfactual universes." Few know of this text and even fewer of the strange audio recordings that were found nestled between pages 86 and 87 in this journal. The strange disc is, seemingly, Dr. Westinhouse's favorite auditory discoveries from the initial run of the experiment. It is only recently that your timeline has progressed far enough so that accurate labels can be applied to the individual tracks in regards to the creators/song titles. So, presented for your examination, here is the soundtrack to Dr. Westinhouse's timeline diversion experiment. The good doctor has been missing in your timeline since mid-1937, his whereabouts unknown to all but the J-Unit Hive Mind of Deuce Project Station.
